It’s time to tell your story.

The NJE Project is accepting submissions on an ongoing basis.

No topic is off-limits. If you’re passionate about it, we probably are, too. That being said, prior to submitting your story, please read through our values to ensure that your story aligns with our mission of empowering, encouraging, and educating others.

Should we be interested in featuring your story, you will receive an email within one week of sending your submission.

FAQs

Does my story have to be extravagant or life-changing in order to be featured?

Short answer: not at all. We are dedicated to showcasing real stories about (really interesting) real people. You may not view your story as life-changing, but someone else might! You never know who may need to hear what you have to say, so we encourage you to submit your story no matter how big or small it feels!

Here’s a list of the topics we’re interested in learning more about, as a guideline for submissions: equality, motivation, success, education, personal triumphs, motherhood, spirituality, female empowerment, minimalism, gender, religion, creativity, entrepreneurship, sexuality… when we said no topic is off-limits - we meant it*.

We will be prioritizing stories from the BIPOC and LGBT communities.

How will I know if my story submission has been accepted for publication?

You will receive an email from NJE within one week of your submission if we have chosen to learn more about your topic and discuss publishing your story If you do not receive an email from us, we have chosen not to move forward with your story at this time. However, please do not let this choice deter you from submitting other stories in the future.

If I have my own blog, can I still submit a story?

Yes! We welcome submissions from anyone and everyone. We understand that you may not want to share a certain story on your own platform, and we’re happy to give you space for it here on NJE.

Do I have to be an experienced writer?

Nope! If you aren’t an experienced writer, but you still want to tell your story - that’s perfectly fine with us! Let us if you’d like us to proofread your submission. We will happily make any necessary edits, send it back to you for your approval, and post the group effort (with all credit to you!)

Can I submit anonymously?

Yes and no. While we do require a name and email on our submission form (for correspondence related to the story’s topic, format, and publish date), we are more than happy to post your story without your name if that makes you more comfortable. Your information will never be shared with our readers unless you explicitly give us consent to do so.

What is the publication process like?

You submit your topic idea. We review it, and email you within one week if we’ve chosen to showcase your story. Then, we work together to decide on a timeline. You write your story and send the draft to us for review. We note any potential changes or edits that need to be made. You make any necessary adjustments, send us the final draft with a short bio (and a picture, if you’d like!), and we post it on the agreed-upon date. Easy!

Why wasn’t my story accepted?

There are several explanations for your story not being accepted for publication. We may have already agreed to post a similar story by a different author, or we may feel that your story is be a better fit for a different season.

*Please note: while we do plan to keep NJE a place for all humans to encourage and empower others, we will NOT accept any submissions that we deem to promote discrimination, prejudice, racism, intolerance, or any other content that we may find offensive to others. The NJE Project’s only focus is uplifting, encouraging, educating, and empowering others, and we reserve the right to omit and ignore any and all content that we believe goes against our mission, values, and purpose.
